Granutools will join the 2024 edition of  BatterieTagung/Battery Conference

We are glad to attend the 16th edition of BatterieTagung/Battery Conference. This event will take place in Münster, Germany from 9th to 11thof April 2024.

About 16th BatterieTagung/Battery Conference 2024

The 16th Battery Conference, organized by Haus der Technik, Essen, ISEA Institute, RWTH Aachen University, and MEET Battery Research Centre Münster, will convene engineers and scientists from across the battery technology spectrum at the Messe und Congress Centrum Halle Münsterland in Münster in 2024, combining Battery Day NRW on April 9 and The Advanced Battery Power Conference on April 10-11.

The Advanced Battery Power Conference serves as an international platform where companies, research institutes, universities, and individuals convene to showcase their advancements and findings in battery technology. With exciting speakers, interactive discussions, and a diverse range of exhibitors from academia and industry, the conference promises to deliver a comprehensive overview of the latest advancements in battery technology while fostering invaluable networking opportunities.

Poster Presentation - Powder characterization: the first step for improving dry electrode manufacturing

Filip Francqui, Managing Director at Granutools, will present a poster titled "Powder Characterization: The First Step for Improving Dry Electrode Manufacturing".

The presentation addresses the pressing need for batteries with enhanced performance, particularly in light of growing demands for electric vehicles and renewable energy technologies. The research underscores the significance of dry-coating processes in achieving higher efficiency and cost-effectiveness in battery production. Specifically, the focus is on Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) as a crucial binder for dry electrode manufacturing, with emphasis on the importance of fibrillation in optimizing mechanical properties and overall electrode quality.

Granutools introduces an innovative method utilizing the GranuPack, an advanced tapped density technique, to quantify the degree of PTFE fibrillation in powder blends. By correlating metrics from the GranuPack with fibrillation levels, elucidates how powder behavior and PTFE entanglement influence electrode performance, offering insights crucial for advancing dry-coating processes and ultimately producing batteries with superior energy density.
