Granutools will be at the XIXth International Congress on Rheology (ICR2023)

The ICR2023 event, organized jointly by the Hellenic and Israeli Societies of Rheology in collaboration with the Hellenic Polymer Society and the Israeli Polymer and Plastics Society, is aimed at convening the global rheology community to engage in discussions about the most recent advancements and developments in the field.

The event program encompasses a wide range of activities, including plenary lectures, keynote lectures, oral and poster presentations. Alongside the technical program, there will be a diverse social program designed to provide participants with opportunities to explore the captivating historical attractions of Athens and Greece.

The International Congress of Rheology 2023 will take in conjunction with the Annual European Rheology Congress (AERC).

Poster: How does the rheology of powder affects its spreadability ?

Aurélien Neveu, Head of Laboratory and Applications at Granutools, will be giving a presentation titled "How does the rheology of powder affect its spreadability?".

In this presentation, he will discuss the impact of powder rheology on the spreadability of metallic powders in Additive Manufacturing (AM) processes. The study focuses on correlating in situ evaluations of spreadability with powder rheology measurements using a rotating drum method, the GranuDrum. The results demonstrate the relationship between powder cohesiveness and spreadability, highlighting how higher cohesion leads to lower spreadability and less homogeneous layers.

Additionally, the study explores the influence of shear-thickening behavior on layer quality at increasing recoater speeds. By understanding these rheological characteristics, the presentation aims to provide insights into predicting powder performance and optimizing processing parameters in AM applications.
