Data analysis with the GranuLyzer
Discover how easily and efficiently the GranuLyzer can make you visualize the data acquired by GranuTools' instruments.
Introduction
The data analysis is a fundamental step to be performed after data acquisition. Indeed, a proper analysis will allow extracting lots of useful information from the experimental data to get a complete understanding of the material behavior. However, when experimental data are obtained from different characterizing tools like the GranuTools instruments range, it can be sometimes difficult to get a full picture of all the results. To make this process easier, the GranuLyzer data analysis software has been developed. In this application note, we will show how using the GranuLyzer can help to extract more from the experimental data.
The Granulyzer
The GranuLyzer software is designed to visualize the data acquired by the GranuTools instrument range in an easy and efficient way.
Access data from anywhere
The GranuLyzer can open acquisition data stored in local or remote drives. Usually, the acquisition of experimental data is performed in the lab, and data is stored in the lab computer. However, we would usually like to do the analysis outside the lab so that the lab computer stays available for other measurements. Therefore, it is convenient to access the data from elsewhere, without having to transfer large amounts of data.
With the GranuLyzer, you can remotely open data stored on another computer. Users can then perform the analysis at their office, without having to transfer files from the lab. This allows to speed up the analysis process, as measurement results can be visualized and added to the analysis as soon as the measurement is finished.
In addition, the GranuLyzer will automatically search for new datasets at startup, without requiring manual addition from the user.
Visualize data of all instruments in one software
Powders are complex materials, and their characterization often requires the use of differentmethods to have a clear understanding of the material behavior. GranuTools proposes a full range ofinstruments allowing to measure powder properties in different conditions.
The difficult task of the analysis is thus to combine the results obtained on the differentinstruments. The GranuLyzer allows to perform cross-analysis of the data by visualizing the data ofall the instruments in one Software. Also, a “Global Overview” tab shows all instruments results inone window, making it easy to correlate the metrics of the different instruments

Analyze repeatability tests
Repeatability tests are common practice in experimental science to guarantee the significance of the differences observed between the tested materials. The GranuLyzer allows to easily group the independent measurements into repeatability tests and provide average and error bars.
Improve collaborative work by sharing analysis
Many projects are done in collaboration, involving different people around the world working on the same data. The GranuLyzer analysis saving feature allows to easily share a complete analysis to a collaborator. The analysis file will contain the measurement data (including repeatability tests) and all the figure customizations, i.e. line styles and colors, axis range, … You just have to save your analysis and share it with another GranuLyzer user.
The save analysis feature is also useful to save unfinished analysis. No need to redo everything, just re-open the analysis and start where you stopped. Moreover, analysis can be saved and stored for quality control propose.
Export the data in user friendly formats
The GranuLyzer gives the ability to export the raw and analyzed data to friendly formats: the numeric data can be exported to an excel file, structured to include the repeatability tests. The figure can be exported to common image format to be directly included into reports or presentations.
Conclusion
The new GranuLyzer data analysis tool is a must have to perform easy and accurate analysis of powder characterization data obtained from the GranuTools instrument range. Its ability to visualize data of all instruments in the same software allows to extract useful information on the material properties by combining the different results acquired with the different characterization methods.
Furthermore, the analysis saving feature is a must have for efficient collaborative work. If you want to improve your data analysis process, try the GranuLyzer!
