Granutools will attend the 5th European Conference on Pharmaceutics

The 5th European Conference on Pharmaceutics will take place on March 24-25, 2025, in Porto, Portugal, focusing on "Innovative dosage forms and advanced technologies for modern therapeutics." This biennial international event, jointly organized by APGIAPV, and SITELF, serves as a key platform for bridging academic research and industrial applications in pharmaceutical sciences.

Bringing together around 600 participants, the conference attracts a balanced mix of industry professionals, academic researchers, and young scientists. It offers a unique opportunity to present research, exchange ideas, and foster collaborations. The program includes plenary lectures from leading experts, invited talks on cutting-edge topics, short talks selected from abstracts, and poster presentations showcasing the latest advancements in pharmaceutics.

An industrial exhibition will accompany the event, featuring innovations in pharmaceutical ingredients, analytical technologies, medical devices, contract manufacturing, and more.

Poster Presentation: Understanding the relation between permeability and packing fraction to improve tablet manufacturing

We will display the poster “Understanding the relation between permeability and packing fraction to improve tablet manufacturing”. This study explores how powder permeability and packing fraction impact the die-filling step in tablet manufacturing. Efficient air escape during die filling is crucial for uniform tablet weight, porosity, and tensile strength.

Using the GranuPack instrument and the permeability cell, permeability was measured at different packing fractions for various lactose powders and excipient mixtures. Tablets were then produced under different paddle and tableting speeds.

The results show a clear correlation between powder permeability and tablet tensile strength, offering valuable insights to optimize formulations and improve manufacturing efficiency.
