Geoffroy Lumay will attend Particles 2019 on October 28-30, 2019 in Barcelona, Spain.
At the conference, Geoffroy Lumay will give a presentation entitled “Measuring granular flow properties to calibrate DEM simulations”.
So far, one of the most challenging step when dealing with granular material simulation is the selection of the parameters: sliding and rolling coefficients of friction, coefficients of restitution, cohesive forces, etc.
In this presentation, we show how to use a set of macroscopic measurements to perform this calibration.
The GranuPack measures the packing dynamics, the GranuDrum measures the cohesiveness.
As for the Granuflow it measures the flow of a powder in a silo.
This work is the result of a collaboration between the University of Liège (PowderReg project), GranuTools and DCS Computing.
